In some recent installations customers have had to deal with damp issues and uneven sub-floors. Correcting these issues are very much part of the work that Dalkard & Elliott are very willing and happy to undertake. Furthermore, damp can be a concern in many older properties as well as some newer ones. However, do not worry, there are many remedies available. If you have concerns over this please contact the shop or email us via the link on this website. Furthermore, we will be pleased to call out to complete a proper survey to assess your needs.

Uneven sub-floors can be dealt with in a number of ways. If you have a concrete floor we can obtain a lovely smooth to fit finish by preparing it in a water based screed. Furthermore, we use a water based screed because it lasts so incredibly well and because it dries glassy smooth. It is not necessary to have the floor completely level, that cost is one that can be avoided. However it is vitally important that the sub-floor has a smooth finish to fit to.

Therefore, existing wooden sub-floors are prepared with ply-wood. This provides a great base on which to fit your new flooring.

Call in and see us, you will be impressed.
